The region & its story
Tamegroute and Tinfou complement a planned Zagora journey. Keep craft visits, religious-site access and desert activities as separate arrangements with clear expectations. Give makers time to explain their work and keep the dune walk within your group’s abilities. Allow enough daylight for the onward or return road journey.
Getting there & getting around
Arrange the full road itinerary from Ouarzazate and confirm workshop appointments. Allow an overnight stay if needed rather than rushing the return.
A day in the region
Visit a confirmed pottery workshop in Tamegroute and plan a Tinfou dune stop in cooler daylight. Keep meals and return transport agreed.
Food & local tables
Reserve a meal in Tamegroute or Zagora and carry water for the dune stop.
When to visit
Avoid strenuous dune walking in hot weather; check wind, visibility and local advice.
Where to stay
Consider a confirmed Zagora-area stay for a slower regional extension. A desert camp is not included in this guide.
Respect the places you visit
Ask before photographing people or entering homes. Stay on agreed walking routes, keep out of cultivated plots and support makers with clear, direct purchases.
