Tamegroute
A village south of Zagora associated with pottery and a historic scholarly tradition. Arrange a workshop visit to understand the making process; this is a longer Drâa Valley journey from Ouarzazate.

The place & its story
Tamegroute combines village life with pottery-making and a historic religious and scholarly setting. An arranged workshop visit gives makers time to explain their work without implying that visitors must purchase.
What to look for
Ask about shaping, glazing and firing, and seek permission before taking photographs. The cover photograph shows pottery made in Tamegroute, not a panorama of the village. Confirm any library visit separately and respect restrictions around religious spaces.
