Cinema in Ouarzazate: studios, sets and the museum

Make a cinema day around the city’s museum and working studios, with clear expectations about visitor access.

Start with cinema memory in the city

The Cinema Museum is across from Taourirt Kasbah, making it a natural addition to a heritage walk. Film-related objects and reconstructed environments give context to the region’s cinema identity. Pairing the museum with the historic quarter makes a more varied morning than rushing immediately from one outdoor set to another.

Atlas Studios is a working place

Atlas Studios sits on the Marrakech road and is known for large outdoor sets. A visitor tour and an active production have different needs: filming can affect what is accessible. Check the studio website and confirm the current tour arrangement before travel. Do not assume that every set shown in photographs is open on your date.

Choose your second stop with care

CLA Studios adds another cinema location west of the city, but access should be checked independently. If a second studio is unavailable, keep the day flexible with a city walk or a longer meal instead of relying on an unconfirmed entrance. Our Atlas guide and CLA guide keep the locations distinct.

Build a comfortable cinema day

Outdoor sets can involve substantial walking in exposed areas. Ask about the tour length, guide language, shade and transport before booking. Take water and sun protection, and follow the guide’s photography rules around working areas. Leave space between appointments so a delayed tour does not turn the rest of the day into a race.
