Take three days to discover the upper Tassaout Valley at a mountain pace. Travel from Ouarzazate to Amezri, stay in locally arranged guesthouses and explore the terraces and earthen village setting of Ichbaken with a local guide. This is a flexible cultural walking journey, not a high-altitude summit expedition. Two proposed guesthouse nights, route access and every inclusion are confirmed in your written quotation.

These photographs show Ichbaken village and its surrounding Tassaout Valley, supplied by Ouarzazate City. Explore the village, terraces and mountain scenery in the gallery below.

A full or shortened walk planned with your local guide, adapting to terrain, weather and your group.
Discover Amezri and Ichbaken’s earthen setting respectfully, asking permission for people and private spaces.
Locally arranged guesthouses, with facilities and meal plans agreed before booking.
Leave Ouarzazate in the morning, allowing a substantial part of the day for the mountain drive via the Skoura–Toundoute approach and the route currently usable by your vehicle. Stop for refreshments and viewpoints without rushing the road sections. Reach the upper Tassaout area for lunch or an afternoon arrival, depending on conditions. Meet your local guide for an introductory Amezri walk of around 1–2 hours if daylight permits. Settle into your confirmed guesthouse and discuss the following day’s route with your guide and hosts.
Meals: Lunch paid separately. Dinner and next morning’s breakfast only if listed in your quote.
Overnight: Proposed guesthouse in or near Amezri; property, room arrangement, bathroom facilities and heating confirmed before payment.
After breakfast, explore the valley with your local guide. The longer option follows suitable paths between the Amezri and Ichbaken areas, roughly 8 kilometres with approximately 4–5 hours allowed including breaks; distance, ascent and terrain must be checked with the guide. It is not a guaranteed marked or all-season trail. A shorter village-and-terrace option is available if your group prefers or conditions require it. A vehicle transfer is only possible on currently usable roads and is not a promised rescue option. Enjoy a picnic or pre-arranged lunch and spend time appreciating Ichbaken’s dramatic setting. No deep river crossing or canyon traverse forms part of the promised programme. Overnight in the valley at the confirmed property; the exact village depends on access and room availability.
Meals: Picnic or local lunch, dinner and breakfast only as itemised in the accepted quotation.
Overnight: Second proposed valley guesthouse night, in the Amezri or Ichbaken area; no named property or private bathroom is implied.
Enjoy breakfast and, if conditions permit, a final easy walk near your accommodation. A tea stop or host-led cultural encounter can be arranged with consent, not assumed. Leave enough daylight for the mountain drive back via the agreed route, taking rest and lunch stops. A short Skoura stop is possible only if the confirmed return timing allows it; kasbah tickets and extra guiding are not included automatically. Finish at your agreed Ouarzazate address. Leave the evening free and avoid a same-day flight connection.
Meals: Breakfast according to the accommodation quote; lunch and drinks paid separately unless included.
Overnight: Tour ends in Ouarzazate; no third night.

These are the proposed package elements. Only services itemised in your accepted written quotation are included; this page alone does not create a booking.
Remote High Atlas mountain roads and uneven village paths. Not a step-free programme. Vehicle type, current road access, walking difficulty and child-seat arrangements must be checked before booking. Tell us your walking experience and mobility needs. Snow, storms, heat or river levels may require rerouting or cancellation; no river crossing or exposed trail is guaranteed. Never book a tight flight connection after the return.
Send an enquiry first. We check a suitable local provider and send the proposed date, pickup point, final price, room or vehicle details, payment instructions and cancellation terms. Review and accept those terms before paying. Weather or access changes must be explained with any alternative programme. No departure, accommodation or ticket is reserved by sending this form.
Read the booking & cancellation policy →The programme can be adapted, but the full walking option requires comfortable walking fitness on uneven mountain terrain. Tell us your experience and children’s ages. The guide must confirm distance, ascent and suitability; ask for a shorter option before booking.
Expect simple local accommodation rather than an assumed hotel standard. The actual property, bedding, room sharing, toilets, hot water, heating and meal arrangements are confirmed individually before you accept a quotation.
This programme concerns Amezri in the upper Tassaout (also written Tessaout) Valley, with Ichbaken (also written Ishbakn or Ichebaken). Confirm the mapped village names with us before booking; transliterations vary.
No. This is a proposed, private itinerary on request. We check the road, guide, vehicle, accommodation where applicable, and your group’s needs. You receive an itemised quotation and confirmation before payment.
This is not a canyoning, river-wading or M’goun summit programme. A local guide chooses suitable paths according to conditions. We do not promise riverbed passages, exposed traverses or access after storms.
Ask before photographing people or entering homes and fields, stay on agreed paths, dress considerately, take litter back and pay fairly for local services. A home visit or hosted meal needs prior agreement; it is never an automatic entitlement.
