Tifoultout Kasbah
An earthen kasbah overlooking the Ouarzazate valley, also written Tifoultoute. Choose it for architecture and landscape near the city, with access agreed before you travel.

The place & its story
Tifoultout introduces another side of the earthen architecture around Ouarzazate. Its elevated setting makes the surrounding valley part of the experience. Combine a considered architectural stop with a studio visit rather than treating every site west of the city as a single attraction.
What to look for
Observe the tower forms, wall textures and relationship between the building and its landscape. Use only permitted visitor areas and ask before photographing residents or staff. The historic photograph documents the building at the time it was taken.
What to discover
- Kasbah exterior and valley setting
- Earthen towers and architectural details
- Combine with a westbound cinema day
Getting there
Arrange a driver to Tifoultout in the Tarmigt area west of the city. Confirm the correct entrance and current permissions. The map marker identifies the building’s general location, not a promise of open interiors.
Suggested visit
Allow approximately 60 minutes, plus travel and meals.
When to go
Cooler daylight hours. Ask which areas are currently open; a panorama stop does not guarantee interior admission.
Food break
Plan a city meal or reserve with a confirmed local host. No restaurant service is assumed at the kasbah.
Before you visit
Confirm opening hours, admission, guide availability and access directly before departure. Respect residents and ask before photographing people.
