Make a dedicated regional day of Taznakht rather than squeezing a craft stop into a cinema itinerary. The town is associated with Amazigh carpet weaving; take time to ask makers about materials, techniques and the story of a piece.
Arrange a cooperative or workshop visit before travelling. A demonstration depends on the makers’ availability: do not assume a hands-on workshop is included. Buying is optional. Ask about the maker, dimensions, materials and delivery conditions before agreeing a purchase.
Combine the craft visit with a local lunch arranged separately. Discuss dietary needs and what the host will serve before you arrive. The suggested experience allows around two hours for the visit and an hour for lunch, excluding the journey from Ouarzazate.
